Plant pots made from biowaste and plants

Award winner

The “Végépots” project produces biodegradable plant containers for horticulture and agriculture from food and plant biowaste.

“Végépots” makes pots and containers for plants from biowaste and plant fibre.

The pots are then sold to professionals working in horticulture, market gardening or parks and gardens, as well as to farmers and private individuals. These biodegradable pots are still in the test phase, but they could become a genuine ecological alternative to plastic pots.

The project is part of an initiative to directly recover biowaste in the circular economy, by locally sourcing, producing and selling biodegradable products.
