Treatment of micropollutants in wastewater: Micropolis-Indicateurs study

Conducted at the Sophia Antipolis wastewater treatment plant (in France) between 2013 and 2016, the Micropolis study aims to evaluate, in real conditions, the ozonation system’s effectiveness in treating micropollutants in wastewater. The study is composed of two parts: Micropolis-Procédés and Micropolis-Indicateurs.

The Micropolis-Indicateurs study, carried out by SUEZ in collaboration with INERIS, TOXEM, IRSTEA, BIOMAE, the University of Bordeaux and the Syndicat des Bouillides with the support of the French Agency for Biodiversity and the Rhone-Mediterranean and Corsica Water Agency, focuses on the characterization of the toxicity of wastewater. It also offers a methodology to better target reductions at source.
